“It doesn’t feel like a new home - it feels like it has always been here.”

On a 14 acre property passed down through the generations, and through all its iterations as a homestead, cherry orchard, and now a naturalized woods with winding paths, this was a special one.

Sited next to a classic Door County barn and the brick farmhouse the owner grew up in, this home represented the next step in the property’s (and the family’s) legacy.

The couple was looking to establish a home they could retire to, a peaceful oasis from the hustle of their busy Milwaukee-based lives.

Having spent countless years of long weekends at the ranch home built by her father, sipping coffee and gazing out the only window that actually offered a view, Lynn and her husband Tim envisioned a home that truly embraced what the property had to offer.

One with a bright, open great room for family gatherings and that radiated warmth, small cozy retreats for sitting or crafting, a central courtyard that looked out toward the paths and forest, and porches for sipping hot drinks (or wine).

Completed in the summer of 2020, this home has become a haven in challenging times, filled with small details that make the home feel timeless.
